For General Dentists

Your pratice diagnoses
the treatment. Then most of it quietly disappears

It isn't a marketing problem. The patients are already in your chairs. The decision just happens after they leave, at home, without you in the room.

ADA average gross billings per general dentist, 2025

$1,200 is about one crown

Adding a doctor scales your production by your per-doctor average, and updates your monthly rate below.

Recovery scenario
Added production per year
$72,420
$6,035 per month, from patients already in your chairs
From your production: about $482,830 in treatment goes unscheduled each year, which is roughly 34 undecided cases a month.
The math: 34 undecided cases × 15% more saying yes × $1,200 per case × 12 months
This is the floor, not the ceiling. It doesn't count the appointments you'll keep: connected patients cancel and no-show less, and every one of those saved slots is production this number leaves out.
ReferralCatch is $249 a month for your single-dentist office. Your first recovered case covers about 5 months.
Data Sources & Methodology

Production, $965,660: average gross billings per general dentist in private practice, 2025 (ADA Health Policy Institute, Survey of Dental Practice).

Unscheduled treatment, 58%: the average case completion rate is about 42%, so 58% of diagnosed treatment does not get scheduled. Published analysis brackets that figure: acceptance of diagnosed treatment measured by dollar amount runs 35 to 45%, and one analysis puts the average practice at closing about 34 cents of every dollar presented.

What the calculator actually uses: 50 cents unscheduled per dollar of production, which is deliberately more conservative than the 58% figure.

Case value, $1,200: published fee ranges put a single crown at $1,000 to $1,500, a molar root canal at $1,000 to $2,000, and a composite filling at $150 to $450. $1,200 is about one crown.

Follow-up work: about half of treatment completed by a specialist requires finishing work back in the referring dentist's chair.

Referral loss: industry referral-completion studies put non-completion at 30 to 40%, reaching about half for paper referral slips. We use 1 in 3.

Recovery scenarios: the 5, 15, and 25% figures are our own conservative assumptions, not vendor claims. For comparison, Overjet publicly reports an average 25% increase in case acceptance, and Refera advertises referral scheduling rising from 50% to 80%. Our strong case sits at or below what others already claim as typical.
